Chris Ash

Chris Ash is the assistant musical director at The Showstoppers which has recently brought 80 fully-improvised musicals to the stage on London’s West End. His work explores the interactions between sound, music, and story-telling in written, devised, and improvised contexts.

Chris is a trained composer who studied with Diana Burrell at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. He has composed musical theatre scores for “The Borrowers” (MAC) and “Three Witches” (Belgrade Theatre) and film scores for “The Mandrake Root” (European Drama Network) and “About a Girl” (Alex Kirkland). Other known works by Chris Ash include “Self-Respect”, which was premiered by Claire Moore in “A Song Cycle for Soho” (Soho Theatre/MMD), and “Scars”, which was premiered by Cassidy Jansson in “Go With The Heart” (BML).
