We are looking forward to our next interational TÖRN-Festival in Hamburg from March, 11th till 14th, 2027! Our festival-theme will be “Connect!“

In an age when we seem to be more connected than ever before, genuine connection is becoming a rare commodity. We exchange messages, scroll through profiles, and collect contacts—and yet a sense of distance often remains. Connecting means more than just being reachable. It means truly revealing ourselves, listening, and being seen.

This is especially important right now, as our world is becoming increasingly digital, faster, and more anonymous. Screens give the impression of closeness, but they rarely replace genuine interaction. Despite being constantly reachable, many people feel lonelier than ever. A real conversation, an attentive glance, a sincere interest in the other person—these are the moments that matter.

Connecting reminds us, that we are not alone, that our experiences can be shared, and that understanding is possible. In a society that is often focused on efficiency and self-improvement, consciously turning toward another person is almost a small act of resistance. When we connect with others, we open ourselves up. That takes courage, because vulnerability is part of the process. But that is precisely where the strength lies: connection builds trust, trust builds community, and community is what sustains us in challenging times.
