Internationales Festivalensemble

An ensemble of internationally experienced and well-known improvisers from all over the world will work together during TÖRN Festival 2022. A merging of cultures and the shared experience of learning from one another will be at the forefront of the event. The mixture of experimental improv formats and international ensemble work will be presented throughout the
festival on various stages across Hamburg.

For 2021 these great artists will mainly share their knowledge in online-workshops.

 

Antonio Vulpio

Antonio Vulpio (Bologna, IT)

is one of the founders and the artistic director of his company “Teatro a Molla” in Bologna. He is an accomplished actor, director and trainer in the social and corporate area. At TÖRN he will share parts of his work on the "Saboteur".
Workshop-teacher Feldenkrais

Bronwynn Mertz-Penzinger (Vienna, AT)

has worked on stage and screen as an actor and improvisor with the English Lovers, Orcas Island Project and Vienna Theatre Project. Bronwynn teaches Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lessons as part of the curriculum e.g. at the Vienna English Theater Academy and since May 2020 she is also teaching classes online via Zoom - so she will at the TÖRN festival.
John Gebretatose (Minneapolis, US)

John Gebretatose (Minneapolis, US)

is an international improv powerhouse. He has lead and facilitated diversity and inclusion programming for improv theaters all over the world with a mission of uplifting all voices. At TÖRN-festival John will teach how to deal with situations when a scene becomes scary, offensive, or insensitive.
Knut Kalbertodt (Hamburg, DE)

Knut Kalbertodt (Hamburg, DE)

arrived at Steife Brise in Hamburg in 2002. There he worked as an actor and format developer before taking over the direction of the theatre's public performances. At TÖRN-festival he will share his approach on dealing with critical topics, taboos and satire potential on the improvisational theatre stage.
Patti Stiles (Melbourne, AU)

Patti Stiles (Melbourne, AU)

is an actor, improviser, director, instructor and playwright. Patti is a unique and dynamic instructor with knowledge, technique and application of her improvisational skills. At TÖRN-festival she invites her participants to explore the real human stories that can be neglected in improvisation and to show humanity at its best and worst.
Raffi Feghali (Beirut, LB)

Raffi Feghali (Beirut, LB)

is an improviser, storyteller, and actor. He established a modest improv scene in Beirut, toured with his show and appeared in festivals all over the world. With "This is Beirut!" he created an improv show inspired by the October 17 Revolution in Lebanon. At TÖRN Raffi helps us navigate how we can say everything we want to say without having to be politically correct.
Roland Trescher (Berlin, Ger)

Roland Trescher (Berlin, Ger)

has been involved with improvisational theater on and around the stage for almost 30 years. His motto is: "Improvise your life". His current topics are relevance, taboos, resilience and positive psychology. At TÖRN-Festival he experiments with crossing the red line in order to find one's own path, to find new positive visions and insights with impact for ourselves.
Thomas Jäkel (Berlin, DE)

Thomas Jäkel (Berlin, DE)

is an improviser and director, co-founder of Theater ohne Probe, Impro-News.de and the artistic director of the Potsdam Improfestival. His interest lies in the expansion of improvisational theatre into other areas. At TÖRN-festival he takes participants on a journey through Berthold Brecht's world of ideas. Building on these methods, Thomas will share ways to approach current and controversial issues through improvisation.
Verena Lohner (Hamburg, DE)

Verena Lohner (Hamburg, DE)

is fascinated and convinced by parallel worlds and microcosms - whether they are visible or hidden. She passionately combines her resources as an actor, clown and coach, developing plays, formats and methods based on the idea that we question rather than always be in bondage. At TÖRN-Festival Verena will explore the use of new and traditional stage tools for dealing with critical topics and taboos in improvisation.
Viviane Eggers (Hamburg, DE)

Viviane Eggers (Hamburg, DE)

has been an improviser since 2006 and an ensemble member of Steife Brise since 2011. She is always looking for opportunities to grow, in acting as well as in any kind of movement - her second passion. She is also a fitness trainer and health coach. At TÖRN she will take care of the participants physical well-being and put them into a "HIIT" training.
